DOHA: In conjunction with the country’s National Day celebrations, the Qatar Football Association (QFA) on Friday launched the emblem of the Asian Cup 2027 bid at the newly built Al Rayyan Stadium, venue of the 2020 Amir Cup final, and one of the stadiums to be used for the FIFA World Cup 2022™ which will be held in Qatar.

The QFA also unveiled information on support of its bid on social media platforms and launched the official bid website. It marked the start of the promotional campaign for Qatar’s Asian Cup 2027 bid.

The last step is a confirmation from the QFA of its commitment to fulfilling all hosting requirements, as per the schedule approved by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of Qatar Football Association, said: “We are proud to launch the emblem of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 bid file. We are also thrilled to begin the promotional campaign for the bid, according to a timetable we have been preparing for a while. We assure every football fan that we are ready to host the AFC Asian Cup 2027 and we are confident Qatar’s bid file will impress the football federations in the Asian continent. Asia is familiar with Qatar’s history of hosting top international football events and matches across more than four decades.”

The President of QFA added: “We are looking forward to achieving our dream of hosting the AFC Asian Cup for the third time, having hosted it in 1988 and 2011. The Qatar Football Association is one of the main supporters of the AFC and its football family at large.”

Qatar’s Bidding Nation Logo brings together Al Adaam, the name, and colour of Qatar’s flag and the number 27, representing AFC Asian Cup 2027. This striking identity also weaves in Qatar’s ancient tradition, Al Sadu, a handicraft treasured by local families and often used to decorate soft furnishings and elements found in the home. These motifs represent the generosity of Qatari hospitality, which ensures that every guest will always feel at home. At the heart of the design is the football pitch – the stage for football dreams to come true. The emblem’s colours represent Qatar’s distinct maroon which blends seamlessly with gold, creating a sense of the rich fan experiences.

It is worth noting that the Qatar Football Association handed over the first part of the bid file on 26 August, underlining its desire to host Asia’s most prominent national team event, followed by the second part covering legal requirements on 29 October, and the third part showcasing the government guarantee requirements on 26 November.
