Doha:  The Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Mongolian Football Federation (MFF) signed a cooperation agreement today 11 February, 2018 in Al Bidda Tower, Doha, Qatar. The agreement focuses on various aspects related to football and how to strengthen its role between the two federations to serve the game.

The agreement was signed by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the QFA and MFF President, Ganbaatar Amgalanbaatar and attended by Saoud Al Mohannadi, Vice President of the QFA, Mansoor Al Ansari, General Secretary of the QFA, Ali Dawood, Executive Director of the QFA President office, Mushtaq Al Waeli, Executive Director of Strategy and Institutional Development of the QFA, Shijir Ulziikhuu, General Secretary of the MFF, and Enkhjin Batsumber, Mongolia National Team Manager.

The signing of this agreement is an important milestone for the QFA as it is part of its strategy to develop football in Qatar and strengthen its relationship with its’ Asian counterparts.

Signing the agreement showcases both federations’ eagerness to invest in the friendly and bilateral relations between the two countries to further develop football between the two nations.

The agreement focuses on cooperation in several key areas, mainly: technical and professional exchanges, national teams, exchange of expertise (including coach education and youth development), game development, player development and referee development. It will also focus on the successful and numerous experiences of Qatari football, including Aspire Academy and Aspeter Sports Medicine Hospital.

The Mongolian Football Federation President, Ganbaatar Amgalanbaatar said: “I would like to thank Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association for the warm welcome. I am very happy for the signing of the cooperation agreement between the MFF and the QFA and look forward to long-lasting cooperation between the two counterparts in the coming period.”

He added: “There is no doubt that Qatar has become a major sports hub in Asia and we are proud to work with a leading federation in the region as such. The cooperation agreement covers all aspects related to football development, and we are very pleased with the content of the agreement, which will allow us to gain the knowledge and expertise developed by the QFA that focuses on topics such as football management, training and education, as well as the use of medical facilities of Aspetar for treatment of our players, and by bringing our talent to train in the Aspire Academy.”

He also said: “The agreement also includes the establishment of training camps, and we look forward to the organising of friendly matches between the two sides at the national teams level. The agreement is a real translation of the bilateral relations between the two sides and we aspire to develop them further for better football.”
