DOHA: QFA President has congratulated the Qatar junior string for qualifying for next year’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Qatar on Friday beat China 4-2 to qualify for the World Cup for the FIFA U-20 World Cup for the first time since 1995 after stunning China by recording a 4-2 victory at a damp Wunna TheikdiStadium on Friday..

“This amazing achievement has been possible due to the full support of H H the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani,” Sheikh Hamad Bin Ahmed Bin Al Thani, QFA President, said.

“The support of H E Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani is also very important in Qatar’s rise in football,” QFA President said.

“I congratulate the young players who have brought such delight to football fans in Qatar,” he added.

Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“Qatar football is improving in a major way and I am confident that we will have a strong team at the 2022 World Cup,” QFA President said.

Qatar secured their place in Monday’s semi-finals where they are set to experience the cauldron of noise that will be a packed Thuwunna Youth Training Centre Stadium in Yangon against hosts Myanmar.
