DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani on Sunday received  South Korean football chief Chung Mong-gyu who is currently on a visit to Doha.

The visit comes within the framework of the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly federations, QFA confirmed on Sunday.

The two officials held wide-ranging discussions to develop football in both countries. Both parties look forward to working on their cooperation agreement to take the game forward into the next decade and beyond.

“Our honorable guest also comes within the framework of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the QFA and South Korean Football Association that have been going on for a few years. There is regular coordination at all levels in this partnership,” a QFA official said.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss several important issues concerning the two parties, who stressed the importance of pursuing consultations for the benefit of the football interest in the Asian continent.

The two federations aim to invest in friendly and bilateral relations and look forward to broaden prospects of close cooperation in order to exchange expertise and resources in the coming years, while supporting the development of football in the two countries.

Later the two officials exchanged souvenirs and posed for photos.
