DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) President on Wednesday

met with Roberto Olabe Aranzabal, Aspire’s technical Director of

Aspire Academy Director Ivan Bravo was also present during the

meeting alongside Qatar football Association Executive Committee

member Ali Al Thawadi.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani thanked Olabe for

his efforts to manage the youth football program at Aspire Academy.

The QFA President said Olabe’s contribution greatly helped in

building a strong youth player base in the country.

He added that Olabe’s contribution also enhanced the profile of

young Qatari coaches handling youth teams.

The QFA President said Qatar’s youth football is now moving in

the right direction thanks largely to the blueprint of success

planned by Olabe. A notion became evident as Qatar was crowned

U-19 Asian Champions almost two years ago.

The two exchanged mementos after the meeting, before the QFA

chief wished Olabe the best of his luck in his new quest.

Olabe is leaving for Spain where he will become the director of

football at Real Sociedad, one of Spain’s top football clubs.
