DOHA: The Development Department of QFA, successfully concluded a coaching workshop that conducted the Professional Coaches Diploma (PRO) and the A Coaches Course, which were held in cooperation with the AFC.

The closing ceremony for the two sessions was held in the presence of Fahad Thani Al Zarraa, Director of the Development Department of QFA, guest of honor Saeed Al-Misnad, advisor to QFA, and Ahmed Al-Tayeb, a football commentator on Al-Kass channels and beIN Sports channels.

Fahd Thani welcomed the guests, lecturers and scholars, expressing his happiness at the closing of the two important sessions.

He said: “This is the most important way to raise the level of a coach, who must be keen to draw from the sea of football training sciences so that he is familiar with everything new in the game.”

Fahd Thani said that the Development Department always opens its doors to a coach who is keen on increasing the football knowledge through practical and theoretical workshops that are staged by the QFA in cooperation with FIFA and the AFC.

Saeed Al-Misnad said he was honored to train Fahd Thani and many national team players who became successful coaches later in their careers.

He said QFA invests in bright homebred players and coaches so ‘they engage themselves in the development of the game’. He said it is important for lovers of football to get knowledge, to give scarifice and to be dedciated to learning more and more.

In the beginning of his speech, Ahmed Al-Tayeb thanked Fahd Thani for extending a generous invitation to attend the closing ceremony of the two sessions.

Al Tayeb said that what a particpant gets in the training courses represents the basis on which he or she builds in his or her career in football.

Eric Rummler, the lead lecturer in the Professional Coaches Diploma (PRO), thanked the participnats for their efforts during the course that lasted throughout the year.

He also lauded Fahd Thani’s keeness to help young particpants play their role in developing football in Qatar. He also applauded QFA’s Development Department for regulalrly hosting workshops and sessions to help young participants improve as coaches.

Ahmed Abbasi, a student in the A-level Course, said: “This kind of workshop and such sessions are the basis to have a good, successful career as a coach. We get to speak to some great names and engage them over key topics. I saw that everyone was keen to learn during the workshop.”

It is noteworthy that the Professional Coaches Diploma (PRO) course began on January 18 and 24. Participants from several Arab, European and Latin countries participated in it.

The particpants also included many international players and successful coaches including Brazilian Andre Luiz, coach of Al Khor team, and Moroccan Walid Regracy, coach of Duhail team.

Nabil Anwar, coach of Al Shahaniya and the former Qatari national team player Badr Al-Maimani, former Omani and Qatari national team player, and Qahtan Jotheer, the coach of the Iraqi national youth team, were also among the students.
