DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of Qatar Football Association (QFA), and Mr. Ibrahim Hassan Al Asmakh, President of Regency Group Holding, have signed, at Qatar Football Association headquarters, a sponsorship agreement by which Regency Group Holding will sponsor the 49th final of the Amir Cup, the country’s most renowned football tournament, and the official Sponsors of the Qatar national team, the reigning Asian champions for the 2021/2022 season.

The Amir Cup final will be played between defending champions Al Sadd and former winners Al Rayyan at Al Thumama Stadium on October 22, 2021.

Qatar’s national team’s next major event is the FIFA Arab Cup held in Nov-Dec across the country.

QFA President H E Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmad Al Thani and Mr. Ibrahim Hassan Al Asmakh, President of Regency Group Holding, attended the sponsorship ceremony.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Khaled Al Thani, Partner, Mohammed Nasser al Emadi, Vice President Project Development, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Asmakh, Fadi Barakeh, General Manager of Al Asmakh Real Estate, and Michael Kfoury, Group Marketing Director, also attended the sponsorship signing ceremony.

Other attendees from QFA included Secretary-General Mansoor Al Ansari and Khalifa Al Haroon Executive Advisor and Head of Commercial. The ceremony took place at Al Bidda Tower.

The Amir Cup final is the most-sought after football clash that takes place in Qatar every year. A packed house at the Al Thumama Stadium is expected to attend the final between two powerhouses of football in the country – Al Sadd and Al Rayyan.

Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandes coaches Al Sadd while Al Rayyan’s coach is French FIFA World Cup winner Laurent Blanc.

The Amir Cup final coincides with the inauguration of the Al Thumama Stadium, one of the venues to be used during the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar next year.
