Doha: The coordination meeting for the Second Division League was held on Tuesday, in preparation for the launch of the 2022-23 season, which will begin on the 26th of August with the game between Al Khor and Al Waab.

The meeting was held via video conference, with the participation of representatives from the Qatar Football Association’s Departments of Competitions, Club Affairs and Players, along with representatives of the eight clubs participating in the Second Division League. The attendees discussed many issues related to the organisation of the competition.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Ali Hamoud Al-Nuaimi, Head of the QFA’s Competitions Department, welcomed everyone and wished success to all the participating teams. He expressed his hope that the competition would provide the expected technical levels and achieve the desired goals, and that the fans would enjoy the matches and the intense competition between the players.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the final preparations and the arrangements for the start of the season, with the competition regulations confirmed and sent out to the clubs previously. The competition format was also discussed for the league, in which the following eight clubs will participate during this season: Al-Khor, Al-Kharaitiyat, Al-Shahania, Muaither, Mesaimeer, Al-Bidaa, Al-Waab and Lusail.

Competition officials and team representatives also discussed and confirmed various organisational aspects, including kit colours, the matchday countdown, stadium and pitch entry permits, instructions for the technical operations area, warm-up areas before and during the match, matchday operations, and the approval of the official ball for the competition.

A cooling break for a period of one minute in the middle of each half was also approved, in coordination between the referee and the match observer. The officials also stressed the importance of the precautionary measures applied by the QFA in its various competitions to confront Covid-19, along with the need to ensure that all players and everyone present at the stadium are made subject to these measures.
