The sixth edition of the University League, a collaboration between Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Qatar Foundation (QF), is set to kick off on Thursday, November 1, at Qatar Foundation Football pitches.

Taking place on the Pitch of QF’s Recreation Center, the first match will start at 6pm and will see Academic Bridge Program take on Qatar Aeronautical College, while the second match-up will see Northwestern University in Qatar play College of the North Atlantic at 7pm. The third match will begin at 8pm in which the Georgetown University will vie against Weill Cornell Medical College.

Ten colleges and universities will battle it out to take home this year’s title. Games will be played on Thursdays, with the final match played on Thursday, December 6. An official awards ceremony to crown the first-, second-, and third-placed teams will immediately follow.

Hilal Al Mohannadi, Chairman of the Sub-Leagues Committee, QFA, commented: “We’re happy to join forces once again with Qatar Foundation to host the Sixth University League. This collaboration highlights our objective of nurturing a football culture among the youth. The University League, launched in the 2013-14 season, is sponsored by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy as the official strategic partner, Qatar National Bank as the exclusive financial partner, Nike as the official supplier, and Al Kass Sports Channels as the official broadcaster.
