Salon de Provence, France: Qatar on Tuesday were denied by an injury-time penalty as China managed to play a 1-1 draw at the Toulon International Championship.

Qatar’s Abdullah Al Murisi produced a left-footed shot from the left side of the box to the centre of the goal as the boys in marron took the lead in the 15th minute at Stade d’Honneur Marcel Roustan.

this was Al Murisi’s second goal in the tournament, the industrious winger scored Qatar’s late consolation goal against Mexico.

A reckless tackle by Ahmed Suhail in the 81st minute resulted in a penalty.

Cong Zhen converted the penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner of the goal.

The feisty contest saw four Qatar players being shown the yellow card: Nasser Al Yazidi (72), Marwan Badreldin (61), Ahmed Jenahi (49) Nasir Baksh (39).

In their opening clash, Qatar lost to Mexico 4-1.

Qatar now play England on Friday in their last preliminary stage match.

The Qatari team is participating in the event to prepare for the AFC U-19 Championship to be held in Indonesia from 18 October to 4 November.

Qatar will start their Asian Cup 2018 match against UAE on Oct. 18. In the second game, Qatar will face Indonesia on Oct. 21 before taking on China’s Taipei team on the 24th of the same month.
