DOHA: The University of Calgary (UCQ) and Qatar University (1) (QU1)
qualified to the final of the Qatar Universities League after beating
Qatar Aeronautical College and Qatar University (3) respectively.

UCQ and QU1 are set to compete for the title on Saturday, 30th
November, 2013 in Qatar Foundation, Recreation Centre Pitch 1 at
8:00pm.

The third and fourth place decider will take place ahead of the final
match at 7:00pm, where Qatar Aeronautical College (QAC) will take on
Qatar University 3 (QU3).

An award ceremony and dinner will be held immediately after the final
match at the Recreation Centre in Qatar Foundation (QF) to honour the
1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams.

Best Player, Top Scorer and Best Goalkeeper will also be announced at
the award ceremony.

Khalid Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at Qatar
Football Association (QFA) said: “Excitement levels are rising as we
get closer to the end of the Qatar Universities Football League. We
are thrilled to find out who will be this year’s champion and
congratulate the four teams who made it to the final stages of the
tournament as well as all the other participating teams, they all
played so well and displayed good sportsmanship.”

He added: “Organising this tournament with QF showcases QFA’s
commitment in nurturing the football culture in Qatar, especially
amongst the youth. It also highlights QFA’s efforts in encouraging the
youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle through playing football.”

Sponsored by Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, the Qatar Universities
Football League is organised by Qatar Foundation, in collaboration
with QFA.

The action-packed tournament kicked-off on Thursday, the 24th of
October, 2013. The competition involved a total of 17 teams from 12
colleges and universities across Qatar.
