DOHA: A workshop for fitness trainers concluded following the participation of 14 coaches, Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced on Sunday.

The workshop – conducted by QFA’s Development Department – was headed by Dr. Mohamed Khalaf Dibat, lecturer of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Mohammed Al Hashemi, Strategic Planning Adviser, QFA, headed the closing ceremony where certificates were handed out.

Al Hashemi said: “On behalf of the QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani and members of the federation, we thank the participants for attending this workshop.”

He added: “Such workshops are necessary to develop the game away from the playing pitch. These courses are an important aspect of developing strong teams in Qatar.”

“The role of fitness coaches is vital to the development of a young player appearing in football at any level. We are pleased to see such a big group present here,” Al Hashemi said.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Khalaf Dibat said: “I would like to thank the Qatar Football Association and the Development Department for the quality of the organization of this workshop.”

He added: “I am sure the participants learned a lot from their presence here. Qatar is rapidly improving its football in all spheres. Qatar has great football infrastructure and now they are developing their game as well.”

At the end of the ceremony, certificates were handed out to the participants.
