DOHA: Mohamed Salah Elneel scored twice as Al Markhiya beat Al Shamal
4-1 in their Emir Cup second round match on Tuesday .
At the Grand Hamad Stadium, Elneel scored the first two goals for the winners
before Eric De Oliveira Pereira added a third in the 64th minute.
Leonardo Henrique De Souza rounded up the score for Al Markhiya in the 86th
through a penalty kick.
Elneel earned Al Markhiya the much needed lead in the 31st minute as Al Markhiya
took a 1-0 lead before the half time.
Al Shamal leveled the scores through Mohammed Hares Mohammed in the 49th
minute, but just five minutes later, Elneel put Al Markhiya on top again.
Al Markhiya dominated the proceedings thereafter and enjoyed more than 60 percent
of ball procession.
Al Markhiya will meet Al Khor in the pre-quarterfinal with Al Duhail clash next on the
cards.
