DOHA: Two goals once in each half on Saturday night helped hosts Al Sadd beat arch-rivals Al Rayyan 2-0 to reach the Amir Cup final.
Ali Asadallah opened the scoring in the 12th minute but the second goal came late in the second half through reliable striker Baghdad Bounedjah as Al Sadd thrilled a capacity crowd at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Al Sadd, coached by Jesualdo Ferreira, are aiming to win their second trophy of the season having bagged the the QNB Stars League last month.
Egged on by thousands of home fans, Al Sadd dominated play right from the start of the match when Asadallah scored from close range on a cross from Bounedjah to rapturous applause.

However, Hassan Al Haydos and Akram Afif continued to trouble Al Rayyan backline with continues attacks under lights in the second half.
Sporting yellow outfits for the match, Al Sadd dominated play in the second half to score for another time when Bounedjah hoodwinked a couple of Al Rayyan defenders to score his side's second goal in the 87th minute.
It was a disappointing end to Al Rayyan's campaign in the 2018-19 season despite the presence of striker force of veteran strikers Rodrigo Tabata and Sebastian Soria in the match.
Al Rayyan failed to win a trophy this season.
Al Sadd will now wait on the winner of the second semi-final between Al Duhail and Al Sailiyah on Sunday at the same venue.
The final of the Amir Cup will be played on May 16 at Al Wakra Stadium.
