DOHA: Al Shamal kicked off round two of the Second Division
with a 2-1 win against Al Bidda over the weekend.
The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Al Shamal who saw Mohammed
Omar Saeed find the net in the 2nd minute. Al Biida equalized
through Mohammed Hassan but Benjamin Armstrong powered home in
the 80th minute to complete the 21 win.
This was the second loss for Al Bidda who also went down to
Al Markhiya in round one.
There were yellow cards for Mohammed Nasser (Al Shamal, 25th
minute) and Wahdah Saeed (Al Bidda, 75th minute).
In other games, Muaither edged past Al Wakrah 2-1 and Al Markhiya
beat Mesaimeer 2-0.
The third-round matches will be played on Wednesday and Thursday
with Mesaimeer taking on Al Bidda at Al-Sailiya Stadium and Muaither
playing Al Markhiya Saud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium.
