Mohamed Kani opened the scoring for Al Wakra in the 22nd minute while Al Shamal's Yusuf Ahmed Ali scored an own goal to give Al Wakra a 2-0 cushion at the end of the first half. Al Wakra striker Nana Boko managed to add two goals (63rd and 70th minutes) to complete Al Wakra's four-star win. With the game being played at Al Wakrah Stadium, referee Abdulla Al-Nehba showed yellow cards to Al Shamal players Ali Ahmed Al-Shaibani and Farid Dabnka early in the match. Al Shamal's Abdulrahman Musbah was shown the red in the last minute of the match. Al-Wakra have six points and retain second position in the overall standings.
