DOHA: Asian champions Asian champions Qatar will play Brazil in international friendly at the famous Maracana Stadium on June 5, Qatar Football Association (QFA) said on Tuesday.
The match will allow Qatar match practice ahead of this year's Copa America in which Qatar is one of the participating teams.
Brazil will host the Copa America from June 14 to July 7, 2019.
The friendly match will be an international fixture and will take place on Wednesday, June 5, at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro, which can accommodate nearly 80,000 thousand spectators. The same venue will also host the final of the Copa America.
"The match is an ideal opportunity for Al Annabi to get match practice before it commences its participation in the Copa America," QFA said on Tuesday.
Qatar will play against Argentina, Colombia and Paraguay in one of the two groups of 2019 Copa America.
Copa America is the oldest international continental football competition. The competition determines the continental champion of South America. Since the 1990s, teams from North America and Asia have also been invited to participate.
