DOHA: QFA Head of Competitions Ali Hamoud Nuaimi in the presence of team
representatives chaired the first Emir Cup technical meeting to discuss key matters
ahead of matches.
In his opening remarks, Nuami congratulated Al Shamal on reaching the main round
of the five-stage tournament.
It was decided that all games would be decided via penalties if the winner is not
clearly obtained after 90 minutes. It was confirmed that no extra time will be played
at any stage of the tournament.
It was also informed that dates could be changed for teams appearing In the AFC
Champions League.
The QNB Stars League team playing in Asia are Al Duhail, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan
and Al Gharafa.
The technical meeting saw teams confirming their jersey colors for the three stages
of the tournament.
It was also decided to convene again for the latter part of the tournament.
The Emir Cup is Qatar's most popular football tournament. This year's event will
end on May 19.
