Doha: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Thani met with a high-level AFC delegation led by AFC Senior Vice President Praful Patel as part of AFC’s inspection visit of the region.
The meeting took place today Wednesday 10th January at QFA’s headquarters in Al Bidda Tower and was attended by AFC and QFA’s Vice President, Saoud Al Mohannadi, QFA General Secretary, Mansoor Al Ansari, and Representative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports in Qatar Abdulrahman Musalam Al Dosari.
Following the AFC Executive Committee’s meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand in late November, a selected delegation was appointed to visit football officials in the Member Associations and Government representatives in order to explain decisions taken by the AFC committees and the principles of the AFC competition rules and regulations.
Following the visit to Qatar, the AFC delegation will visit Saudi Arabia and UAE to discuss similar matters.
AFC Vice President is joined on the visits by Mariano Araneta Jr, FIFA Council and AFC Executive Committee Member, Dr. Tran Quoc Tuanas, AFC Executive Committee Member, as well as Member of the AFC Competitions Committee and AFC Director of Competitions Shin Man Gil.
