DOHA: Khaled Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Qatar Football Association (QFA), and a member of the AFC Marketing Committee, participated in the second meeting of the AFC Marketing Committee which was held on Tuesday.
The participation of the officials was arranged via a video conference chaired by Dasho Ugen Tsechup in the presence of the committee members and with the participation of the AFC Secretary General.
After the introductory remarks, the topics on the agenda were discussed which included receiving reports regarding marketing matters for the tournaments that the AFC organized in the past period.
The key AFC events recently included the AFC Champions League 2020 competitions for West Zone hosted in Doha from September 14 to October 3.
Matters relating to marketing and commercial were also reviewed for all Asian championships conducted by AFC.
The second meeting of the Marketing Committee also touched on the 2020 AFC Champions League competitions for East Zone, which will be held in Doha from Nov 18 to Dec 13.
The work plan and the marketing strategy for the coming years and key recommendations were also discussed. Marketing matters in the East Zone event - where Al Kuwari chairs the marketing and communication committee - were also discussed.
The committee previously had made recommendation, endorsed by the Executive Office of the AFC, to restructure all FIFA competitions for national teams so that they bear the name of the Asian Cup in a way that reflects the growth of the reputation and importance of the event.
It is worth noting that the committee held its first meeting for the 2019-2023 season in November 2019 at the AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur with the participation of all committee members.
