DOHA: Mesaimeer kicked off round four of the Second Division
with a 2-1 win against leaders Muaither over the weekend at the
Soud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.
Mesaimeer settled matters before the interval as Mohmammed
Douni and Abdullah Al Dayani scored one goal each on 3 and 40
minutes.
Muaither narrowed the deficit on 75 minutes through striker
Khalifa Salman.
The result means that Mesaimeer are now in the fray for a top two
position with six points, while Muaither’s nine points remain
unchanged.
In other matches, Al Wakrah crushed league debutants Al Bida’a 5-0,
while Al Markhiya and Al Sahmal played out a goalless draw.
