DOHA: Mesaimeer on Sunday beat Al Shamal 1-0 in a playoff match to reach the main round of the Amir Cup.
Abdullah Dayani scored the only goal of the match in the 83rd minute to seal Meaimeer's hard-fought win at Suhail Bin Hamad Stadium.
Al Shamal dominated with ball possession for most part of the first half. However Meaimeer defended well to finish the first half without conceding a goal.
It was a similar story in the second half but Dayani's late strike ended the stalemate.
Mesaimeer now complete the roster of 16 teams of the Amir Cup.
