DOHA: A high-level delegation from the Morocco 2026 FIFA World Cup bid team met with QFA President and other top officials, it was announced on Saturday.
The delegation of Morocco's 2026 FIFA World Cup bid team included Ms. Charafat Afailal, Minister of State for Water Affairs, Ms. Rkia Derham, Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Hamid Al-Suwairi, member of the Executive Office of the Moroccan football federation.
The delegation met with Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, President of QFA, along with Vice President Saud Al Mohannadi.
Hassan Abdullah Al-Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, was also present.
vice- President of the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence was also present during the meeting in which the officials exchanged souvenirs.
The Qatar officials congratulated the guest delegation as the Morocco World Cup bid was approved to enter thefinal vote.
Morocco are competing with a combined World Cup bid from North America that includes the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The hosts of the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be decided on June 13 at the 68th FIFA Congress to be held in Moscow.
