Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Feared Qatar striker Almoez Ali hopes the team will continue to reach new heights after Al-Annabi reached the semi-finals of the Asian Cup for the first time in his history on Friday.
Qatar, coached by Felix Sanchez, beat World Cup side South Korea 1-0 in the quarter-finals.
Almoez Ali, who has scored seven goals in the tournament so far, said: “We are proud of this achievement. We have to thank the players for following the coach's instructions. We hope that we will not stop at the semi-finals and continue our march to the final.”
Earlier Asian Player of the Year Abdulkarim Hassan told the AFC website: “What I have learned in football, is there is nothing (that is) impossible.” The Al Sadd dynamo added: "Everything is possible, so we will keep working hard and pushing, until the end."
He added: “I cannot say anything about the game. Korea (Republic) were strong and we had to defend to stop them from scoring against us and we did it.”
