DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) family on Wednesday celebrated the election wins of Vice President Saud Al Mohannadi at Al Bidda Tower.
Three days ago Al Mohannadi won a seat on the powerful FIFA Council at the AFC General Assembly held in Kuala Lumpur.
At the same gathering, Al Mohannadi also retained the post of AFC Vice President of West Asia.
The celebration gathering on Wednesday was held on the ground floor of Al Bidda Tower where QFA officials of Qatar Stars League and Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy also joined in.
Employees of the three organizations were also in attendance as Al Mohannadi thanked those present for the gesture.
"This is not my win. It is a win for Qatar and Qatar Football Association. I dedicate this to the wise leadership of Qatar. I thank the Amir, H H Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani for his support to the game in the country. I thank for the support QFA President Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani and other officials."
"It was a tough journey but we made it. Everything has come together because of hard work by all stakeholders. I am ready to serve Qatar football in the best possible manner and extend my experience to the world body also," he said. "I am ready for the new responsibility."
