DOHA: The Development Department of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) has concluded a high level training course for Elite Youth Coaches, which was being held during the past three months in three stages at Al Arabi Club.
The course was held under the under the supervision of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) officials with the participation of 27 coaches.
Mohammed Al Hashemi, Strategic Planning Adviser at the Development Department of QFA, attended the closing ceremony of the course held at Aspire Academy.
QFA honored Belgian lecturer J Baker, who supervised the theoretical and practical sessions during the course. He was handed a shield and a certificate.
Al Hashemi thanked QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, and the members of the Federation’s Executive Committee, for planning and staging such courses to develop the game across Asia.
He pointed out that the Elite Youth Course is a special course within the agreement signed with the AFC and QFA as it pays special attention to developing a big group of coaches who can be associated with clubs in Qatar in the future.
Al Hashemi said that the participants learned tactics on how to deal with different situations when dealing with young players in match situations and training sessions.
The QFA official also highlighted the importance of coaches sitting down with young players when they need direction in their game.
For his part, Baker expressed his great satisfaction with the high level of the students attending the course.
He praised the level of most of the learners, saying he was giving them training for 10 minutes and then got to see the positive feed within minutes.
Mahdi Al Hadi thanked QFA, the lecturers and the participants for attending the course.
