DOHA: A coordination meeting headed by Khaled Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communication Department of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), with media officials of Qatari football club was held at Al Bidda Tower.
Ali Hassan Al-Salat, head of the media National Teams, was also present in the meeting.
The discussions centered around the latest media preparations for the round of 16 matches of the Amir Cup which will be launched on the fifth of February.
The meeting focused on discussing media matters related to the championship and explaining the new media procedures for the 48th edition.
The attendees also discussed media controls, which included the holding of press conferences before the matches (which will take place on February 3/4/5/6 in the meeting hall) at Al Bidda Tower.
The officials also talked about the importance of promoting club matches on social media platforms to attract fans to the venues.
How the social media platforms are used will be discussed in future meetings.
Commenting on the results of the meeting, Khaled Mubarak Al-Kuwari said: “The meeting was very useful. The meeting was held within the framework of coordinating with club officials on ways and means to promote the Amir Cup matches."
He added: "As it is expected that the championship will witness strong competitions between all clubs, we feel all media matters should be handled carefully and professionally. The success of the tournament depends on quality media coverage."
Al-Kuwari added: “There was a great response from the media officials of the clubs. These officials intend to have greater communication with QFA to discuss more ideas. We will be having more meetings in the coming days and weeks.
