Doha: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) marked International Workers’ Day on May 1st with a large number of QFA staffs who celebrated the occasion with Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari Director of Marketing and Communications, Ali Al Naimi, Head of Competitions and Hamad Al Thani, Rights and licensing Specialist.
The employees were given gifts as a symbol of appreciation for their hard work and Emir Cup match tickets were also distributed amongst them.
May 1 is marked worldwide to recognize and value the efforts of workers. QFA officials were enthusiastic to interact with the staffs and give them the chance to share the excitement of the Emir Cup by setting up an area where they can hold the trophy and take their own pictures with their friends and fellow colleagues.
Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications at QFA commented: “International Workers’ Day is a very important day and is recognized worldwide. QFA has celebrated this day as a way to illustrate its recognition and appreciation of their efforts and hard work.”
He added: “Emir Cup is celebrated by all members of the community, and with us emphasizing the phrase ‘The Cup is for all’. We want everyone to be able to share the excitement of this tournament and we truly enjoyed giving back to the employees who play an essential role in realizing our goals. We must make all QFA staffs that are skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled feel part of the community.”
International Workers’ Day, also known as Labor Day or May Day, is a celebration of laborers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labor movement and occurs every year on May 1.
