DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) marked the World in collaboration with the Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA) at the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QFED).
The world marks World Diabetes Day on 14 November each year with millions of people participating in activities aimed at raising awareness of the disease.
The participation of QFA to mark the World Diabetes Day falls withing it's social responsibility activities.
QFA has planned and carried a number of such activities that are linked with its Vision 2021.
Khalid Mubarak Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communication at QFA, said: "The participation of QFA in World Diabetes Day activities comes within the framework of continuing the joint work that we have done for some time with the Qatar Diabetes Association."
He added: "We, at QFA, keep a close eye on such activities on exclusive directives of the Federation president who has urged us to touch base with every civil society body in the country."
"We have a lot of community programs and activities to be implemented in close cooperation with our sponsors and community organizations. We aim to strengthen the role of the Qatar Football Association in the local community in line with Vision 2021."
It is worth mentioning that it is not the first participation of QFA in such celebrations which are distinguished by its humanitarian nature. It has also participated in the celebration of International Cancer Day for several years.
In its collaboration with the Qatar Diabetes Association, QFA has developed an ambitious plan in the field of community work with many institutions based on Vision 2021.
The World Diabetes Day was launched in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
