DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced Chilean Nicolás Córdova as the new Qatar under 23 coach.
The former midfielder will manage the Qatar’s U-23 squad which is getting ready for key events in 2021 and beyond.
Cordova has played for several South American clubs and has experienced of representing Chile national teams.
He also coached the Chile U-20 team in 2015.
Córdova began his career in Colo-Colo of Chile in the top flight. He played from 1997 until 2001 playing 54 matches and scoring three goals.
In the 2004–05 season, he played Livorno. In September 2008, he was signed for Grosseto.
Qatar U-23 squad will partake in the 2022 AFC U-23 Championship qualifying phase at a later date next year.
