Doha: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of Qatar
Football Association (QFA, received in his office on Tuesday morning the
Argentine Ambassador HE Carlos Hernandez, and Paraguayan Ambassador
Angel Ramon Barchini.
The meeting was also attended by Saud Al Mohannadi, Vice President of QFA
and Mansoor Al Ansari, General Secretary of QFA.
During the meeting, the officials discussed topics of mutual concern, especially
those related to football, and ways to strengthen the bonds of friendship between
QFA and the two South American federations.
The QFA President stressed to the two ambassadors Qatar's intentions to build
bridges using football in particular and sports in general.
The two ambassadors thanked the QFA Chief for the hospitality.
The officials also reiterated Argentina's and Paraguay's intention of extending all
help to develop football around the world.
The QFA President signed two cooperation agreements with CONMEBOL, which
includes 10 football federations, as well as the Argentine Football Federation during
his recent visit to South America.
Earlier this year Qatar accepted the CONMEBOL invite to take part in 2019 Copa
America which will be held next year in June.
