DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), received at his office this afternoon Lefteris Avgenakis, the Greek Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports.
The meeting was attended by Qatar's Ambassador to Greece and Ali Dawood, Executive Director of the Office of the President.
The meeting comes on the sidelines of the visit of Avgenakis to Doha during his presence at the Ajyal Film Festival, which is being held from 18-23 November.
During the meeting, the two officials talked about many issues related to football and relations between the two countries, especially as the two federations have a cooperation agreement signed a while ago.
The two officials also discussed ways to strengthen the MoU agreement and how to contribute to the prosperity of bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between the two parties, especially as the State of Qatar is about to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The QFA President highlighted the football activity in Qatar as the country gets ready to host the 24th Gulf Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup 2019.
For his part, the Greek Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports expressed his happiness over his presence in Doha, stressing that Qatar and Greece enjoy strong bilateral relations that continue to develop, which contributes to create more opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
At the end of the reception, commemorative shields were exchanged between the two sides in addition to the handing over of the shirt of the Qatar national team to the Greek official by QFA President.
