DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), on Saturday received at his office several sports figures who congratulated him on Al Anabi’s success in winning the 2018 Asian Cup.
Last Friday, Qatar crushed Japan 3-1 to win the continent’s top national team event to complete a sensational run of form that saw the team remain unbeaten in seven matches.
Sheikh Jassim Bin Thamer Al Thani, President of Al Gharafa Club, and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Thamer Al Thani, President of Al Kharaitiyat Club, congratulated the QFA President on the team’s ‘fantastic run of form’.
The meeting was attended by top football officials in the country including Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Buainain, Hani Taleb Ballan, Ali Daoud, and Mushtaq Al Waeli.
The delegation of well-wishers included Rashid Issa Al Dosari, CEO of Al Gharafa Club, Mansour Mousa, Head of the football at Al Kharaitiyat Club, Jassim Mohammed Al Hardan, General Commissioner of the Scout and Guide Association of Qatar, and Brgadier General Ahmed Khamis Al Yousuf.
A consultant for the Scout and Guide Association of Qatar, Hamad Al Omari, the Scout Advisor to the Society, Mubarak Ali Al Marri, Secretary of Management, Captain Ali Al Nunu, former Yemen captain and former Qatar coach Jamal Mosovic were also present.
