DOHA: QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani on Sunday met with visiting Kuwaiti players currently on a trip to the country to play friendly match involving past and present players from both countries.
The match will be played at Souq Waqif on Sunday evening.
The visiting Kuwaiti team thanked QFA President for the invite congratulated Qatar on winning the 2019 Asian Cup.
The reception was attended by Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Buainain, member of the Executive Office of QFA, and Ali Daoud, Executive Director of the Office of the QFA President.
The Kuwaiti team included a number of stars and led the delegation Khalid Khader Al Shammari, coach Thamer Anad Al Anzi and team manager Dr. Wael Sulaiman Habashi and media officer Jaber Nassar Al-Shammari, in addition to 10 players, Gamal Mubarak al-Sayegh, Noir Mohsen al-Shammari, Ahmad Musa Ghuloom, Saleh Salem al-Buraiki, Faraj Lahib Saeed, Mohammed Sabah al-Adwani, Bader Hajji al-Asfour, Samer Jassim al-Martah, Samir Abdul Aziz and Bashar Abdullah.
During the reception held on Sunday many of the football conversations brought beautiful memories and those present at the meeting reminisced occasions related to the rise of the region as a football power.
The discussions also touched upon the great achievement achieved by Al Annabi by winning the Asian Cup for the first time in its history and how the Kuwaiti fans played an key role in supporting the Qatar team in winning the tournament.
Following the official reception of the stars of the Kuwaiti delegation, the QFA President presented the Al-Annabi shirt as a souvenir for the senior Blue Stars, who carried the number 22 in reference to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
