DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), on Sunday visited the QFA pavilion at Darb Al Saai.
The QFA President was accompanied by Ali Daoud, Executive Director of the President's Office, and other officials.
The activities at the QFA pavilion will continue until Thursday as the federation works on interacting with sports-loving communities living in the country.
The QFA President also visited the Koora Time Initiative - a project backed by QFA and Shell Qatar - and met with those who were present there.
QFA has set up a pavilion to promote healthy living through sports as QFA continues to raise voice for bringing residents in Qatar together.
The QFA President also witnessed activities like shooting the ball and hi-tech games set up at the pavilion.
"This is a great place to see young kids getting involved in sports. I am very happy to be here since we are celebrating the Qatar National Day on the 18th of December," the QFA President said.
Young visitors to the pavilion also had their photos taken with the QFA chief.
"The activities we see at the pavilion fall within the framework of the social responsibility programs of QFA in partnership with Shell Qatar and Koora Time Initiative. We are happy to see wide participation of the public in activities at QFA pavilion and at Darb Al Saai overall," he added.
"I am particularly pleased to see the children's keenness to participate in the events, which reinforces our efforts to instill a culture of football among young people and other folks in general," the QFA President said.
"We have to raise awareness on healthy living. I am also very happy to see children with special needs. I would like to thank the working team of QFA and the representatives of Koora Time Initiative for this great effort," he added.
