KUWAIT CITY: President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani met with HE Sheikh Ahmed Al Yousif to congratulate the latter on his election to the KFA top job.
The KFA President was elected to the chair at an Extraordinary Session of KFA which was attended by representatives from the world body FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on May 20.
During the meeting, the Qatar and Kuwait officials also discussed ways and means to develop football both the countries and the region at large.
The QFA President also visited HE Sheikh Talal Al-Fahd on the occasion of his return from a treatment visit to London and wished him, on behalf of the Qatari family, health and wellness.
The QFA delegation has since returned from Kuwait.
Qatar and Kuwait enjoy a strong bond in football matters. At the end of last December, Kuwait hosted the Arabian Gulf Cup after the eight-team football event was moved from Qatar. The decision was hailed by footballs fans and the FIFA President.
