KUWAIT CITY: Qatar Football Association (QFA) is set to participate in the national celebrations in Kuwait through a number of sports and cultural events. The State of Qatar, represented by the Organizing Committee for the National Day celebrations in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sports, will join national celebrations of Kuwait through cultural, heritage, artistic and sports events. QFA will be represented by a delegation headed by Khalid Al Kuwari Director of Marketing and Communication Department. The Qatari participation is a confirmation of the strong ties between Qatar and Kuwait, Al Kuwari said. "We congratulate Kuwait and the people of Kuwait on their national celebrations," QFA said in a statement. The Qatari participation includes a number of cultural, media, heritage and sports events that highlight the depth of the Qatari heritage and its historical ties with Kuwait. The Kuwaiti celebrations will last from Mar 2 to 26. A series of events have been planned. The activities involving QFA will spread to six events in Kuwait. QFA's involvement is timely since Kuwaiti fans supported Qatar during their AFC Asian Cup matches in January. The Qatari participation comes in cooperation with a number of partners, including the Department of Culture and the Arts, the Center for Visual Arts, the Qatar Poetry Center, the Diwan Al Arab, the Center for Theater Affairs and the Center for Music Affairs as well as the center of Mawatr, QFA and Al-Rayyan satellite channel.
