DOHA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) Vice President Saud Al Mohannadi on Wednesday met with Khampheng Vongkhanty, his counterpart from the Laos Football Association. The visiting delegation is currently in Doha on the sidelines of the preparation camp hosted by Doha for an U-22 event to be held during the period from 10-18 November. The visit of Mr Vongkhanty comes within the framework of the distinguished relations between the two federations, which culminated in the signing of a cooperation agreement between QFA and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which includes 12 national federations, including the Laos Football Federation. The two officials agreed to strengthen their football ties with exchange programs and football matches at all levels. "During the meeting, the officials discussed the future relations between the two federations and the mechanism of activating the cooperation agreement, which will contribute to the development of bilateral relations between them," a statement from QFA said on Wednesday. The two officials also talked about issues related to the football system that linked the two sides and ways to support them for the benefit of all parties, and to ensure the development of football at the local, Asian and international levels. Mr Al Mohannadi said on Wednesday: "QFA continues to expand its role in developing football with all AFC members besides taking steps to improve football at grassroots level across Asia. QFA takes pride in its role as a body that advocates development of the game at every level in the world."
