DOHA: Saud Al Muhannadi, Vice-President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), Thursday received in his office Ganbaatar Amgalanbaatar, President of the Mongolian Football Federation (MFF), and Vice President of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan.
The visit of the two official comes within the framework of the distinguished relations between QFA and its Asean counterparts.
Last year, QFA signed a cooperation agreement with ASEAN Football Federation member countries to develop the game across the region.
On Thursday, QFA Vice President affirmed that the federation has good relations with all member federations of the "ASEAN" region including the Mongolian and Vietnamese federations.
He said QFA remains committed in forging strong football and sports relations with all football countries in Asia.
For his part, President of MFF praised the State of Qatar and its role on developing a strong football culture in the country.
He said on Thursday: “There is no doubt that Qatar has become a top sports center in Asia and we are proud to work with a leading federation in the region. QFA is professionally moving towards globalization and has great experience in relation to many areas of football.
In turn, the Vice-President of the VFF thanked his Qatari counterpart for QFA's great interest in enhancing ways of cooperation between the two federations.
During the meetings on Thursday, future scope of signing cooperation agreements were also discussed at length.
“QFA looks forward to enhancing cooperation with ASEAN bodies in the future also,” Al Mohannadi said.
The ASEAN Football Federation is a smaller organisation within the Asian Football Confederation, and centres on Southeast Asia. It was founded in 1984 by Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
