CHANGZHOU: Qatar U 23 Captain Ahmed Moein Ali on Sunday said
the Qatar team is brimming with confidence having accumulated six
points from two matches at the AFC U-23 Asian Cup.
Group A leaders Qatar, who just need one point to secure a quarter-finals
berth, have beaten Uzbekistan and Oman in their two matches at the
Changzhou Sports Centre.
Rivals China lost to Uzbekistan on Friday after easily beating Oman
3-0 in their opening match of the tournament.
"We have a very important game against China coming up and we
are preparing ourselves well. The team is ready for the match," Moein
said on Sunday.
"We are doing very well in this tournament so far and we already
have six points," he added.
Moein said Qatar expects to see a huge Chinese crowd turning up for
the clash today.
"At the AFC U-19 Championship in Myanmar in 2014, we played
against Myanmar and there were nearly 30,000 spectators there,"
Moein said of Qatar's title winning triumph three years ago.
"I think the team will face the same sort of challenge against China
as the stadium will be full. Nevertheless, we are ready," he added.
