DOHA: The indonesian and South Korean community sides will feature in he opening match of the 8th edition of the Asian Community Championship.
The matches will be played today.
The event is being organized by the Qatar Football Association (QFA) under the supervision of the Sub-Leagues Committee, and sponsored by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
In the opening match, Indian and South Korean sides will face off at Al Arabi Stadium. At the same venue, Japan will take on Palestine.
The first round matches will resume on Friday 10th, when the Lebanese and Sri Lankan diaspora teams will meet for the second group. At the same venue, the Philippines and India will play the second match.
The Philippines, South Korea, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Indonesia are in Group A, while Group B incudes Jordan, Japan, Palestine, Lebanon, Sri Lanka and Malaysia,
It is worth noting that QFA aims to establish such tournaments to instil and establish the concept of (football for all) with the local community institutions and football fans.
