2014 Emir Cup: Organizers Promise Prizes Worth QR 3 Million

DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) on Sunday announced the allocation of prizes worth 3 million riyals for the fans attending the matches of the 2014 Emir Cup. Spectators will have the chance to win new mega prizes including cars from Toyota, iPhones, iPads, Blackberry phones and coupons from Sony – Fifty One East and Al Nahdi Group. The raffle draws will take place in the matches of Rounds 2, 3, 4 (quarter finals), 5 (semi finals) and 6 (final) of the tournament, QFA said on Sunday. DSC_0331-619x365 Fans have to buy tickets to be eligible to enter the raffle draw which will take place in the stadia before match kick-off. Fans can buy their tickets from the stadia for rounds 2-5, as for round 6 (final match), fans can buy their tickets from the 7 ticket outlets. Final match tickets will be sold in Villaggio, The Mall, Landmark Mall, Lagoona Mall, Souq Waqif, Fifty One East in City Centre, and Al Khor Mall. Tickets for the final match will only be sold in the evening, except for on weekends, where they will be sold in the morning and in the evening hours. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Buainain, Member of the Executive Committee and President of the Supervising Committee of the tournament, said: “QFA is keen on attracting a big number of spectators in the Emir Cup and allocating this amount of prizes is a demonstration of QFA’s commitment in ensuring that the most important tournament of the year is organised to highest of standards.” Khalid Al Kuwari, COO of QFA, said: “It is our pleasure to announce the selling of tickets for the first rounds of the Emir Cup 2014 which reaches a total of 10,000 tickets. We are going to sell tickets from the stadia, and as for the final match, we have allocated 7 ticket outlets in order to cater to the needs of the fans that come from different parts of Qatar.” It is worth mentioning that the Emir Cup is the last tournament of the season and is one of the most popular tournaments in the country. The Emir Cup 2014 runs from 21st April until 17th May and matches are played in four stadia, Al Arabi Stadium, Qatar Sports Club, Al Sadd Stadium and Khalifa International Stadium.
