DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) announces the postponement of the final of the 49th Amir Cup, for the 2020-21 season, which was scheduled to be played on May 14 at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, between Al-Sadd and Al-Rayyan.
This decision comes after the announcement of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions in the country, which include allowing a limited number of fans to attend outdoor sports events as long as they are vaccinated. The Amir Cup is a prestigious and hugely popular tournament, and games between Al-Sadd and Al-Rayyan have always attracted a lot of fans.
Accordingly, the QFA will announce the new date of the game shortly, in full coordination with all the relevant authorities, particularly the Ministry of Public Health.
