as Qatar Sports Club crushed Muaither 4-0 and advance to the third
round of the Emir Cup on Sunday.
In another Emir Cup match on Sunday, Al Wakra notched a convincing 4-1
win over Markhiya.
In the third round, Qatar SC will take on Al Ahli at Al Arabi Stadium
while Al Wakra will face Al Arabi at Qatar SC Stadium.
Both third-round matches will be held on April 30.
The Emir Cup is the most popular football tournament in Qatar.
Meanwhile, Qatar Stars League’s Second Division champions Al Shamal
were shown the door when they were hammered by Al Khor 5-1 on Sunday.
Al Kharaitiyat also advanced into the third round on Sunday with a 1-0
win over struggling Al Rayyan, who were relegated to the Second
Division after missing the QSL cut three weeks ago.
The winning teams Qatar SC, Al Wakra, Al Khor and Kharaitiyat join Al
Ahli, Umm Salal, Al Arabi and Al Gharafa in the third round.
The quarter-finals of the tournament will be on May 3.
The semi-finals matches will be on May 10 at Al Sadd Stadium.
The final of the tournament, which brings to close the football season
in Qatar, will take place on May 17 at Khalifa Stadium.
