DOHA: The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 has issued Resolution No. (1) for the year 2023, appointing Mr. Jassim Abdulaziz Al-Jassim as the Chief Executive Officer of the tournament. The decision represents a significant step in preparing to host the AFC Asian Cup in the State of Qatar.
The Asian Football Confederation's Executive Committee had previously selected the Qatar Football Association to host the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. This will be the third time that the State of Qatar has hosted the tournament, following the 1988 and 2011 editions, and the national team is also the reigning champion after winning the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
