MANILA: Qatar Football Association (QFA) on Sunday termed AFC's Dream
Asia Award' a 'big honour'.
The prize is given to a body which 'uses football as a tool for social
change, enlighten the importance of social responsibility and promote
the culture of giving', AFC said.
"This is an honour as we have worked very hard. We are working very
hard with the community to get football to them," Saud Al Mohannadi,
the Vice-President of Qatar Football Association (QFA), said on
Sunday.
"We are going all the way to the kids and the elderly to get them
involved in football and to show them that football is not only for
people who can play football or for the young people and that is a
healthy way to keep healthy," Al Mohannadi added.
"Asian football has witnessed a lot of progress in sixty years, and
now it’s competing with the rest of the world. And we, the Qatari
Football Association (QFA), as part of Asia, work rigorously with the
Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to progress and improve Asian
