MANILA: The decision to award Qatar Football Association (QFA) winners of 'AFC's Dream Asia Award' is the result of 'hard work put in by QFA', a top official said on Sunday. Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) prize is given to a body which 'uses football as a tool for social change, enlighten the importance of social responsibility and promote the culture of giving'. "I congratulate QFA leadership on this award," Khalid Al Kuwari, COO of QFA, said on Sunday. "This award is the result of hard work we have put in over the years. We are thrilled at this achievement and at the same time, we pledge to work harder in the coming years," Al Kuwari added. "We would not have been able to do this without the support of QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani," Al Kuwari said. '"We have plenty of goals to achieve and we will continue to deliver on our promises," Al Kuwari said in reference to the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by Qatar. "We haven't done this alone. We have been fully backed by our supporters and sponsors over the years. I want to thank them also," he added.
