DOHA: The Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) on Wednesday announced the participation of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain in the 24th edition of the Gulf Cup.
The eight-team event will be played in Qatar.
The last edition was hosted by Kuwait at the end of 2017.
The Executive Committee of AGCFF has approved the participation of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain. The formal invites to all members of AGCFF were sent sometime back.
“The Arab Gulf Cup Football Association appreciates the positive response from all member countries to feature in the 24th edition of the Gulf Cup,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Gulf Cup is the most popular national team event of the region.
“The aim of this tournament is to unite the region in its love of football and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among all football loving countries,” the statement added.
With the changes announced on Wednesday, the AGCFF said the new event draw would be announced shortly with eight teams set to feature in two groups.
The tournament will be held from November 26 to December 8.
