DOHA: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, President of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF), on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee, at Al Bidda Tower.
The meeting was also attended by Abdul Khaleq Massoud, President of the Iraqi Football Federation, and members of the Executive Committee of AGCFF, Jassim Al-Shakieli (Oman), Hameed Al-Shaibani (Yemen), Mohammed Khalil (Kuwait) additionally to Jassim Al-Rumaihi, Secretary General of AGCFF, and Ahmed Al-Nuaimi, the Assistant Secretary General.
The Executive Committee decided to postpone the Extraordinary General Assembly which was scheduled to be held in Oman on December 30. The new date of the (EGM) will be announced shortly, officials said on Wednesday.
The UAE Football Association has officially submitted the request to postpone the meeting to a later date, details showed on Wednesday. It may be remembered that the UAE is busy hosting the AFC Asian Cup from Jan 5 to Feb 1.
The Executive Committee, meanwhile, has advised the GCC member countries to participate in the next edition of the Gulf Cup to be held in Qatar in December 2019 and January 2020.
The actual dates of the region's biggest tournament would be identified later.
