DOHA: In a rare but heart-warming gesture, Qatar Stars League (QSL)
side Al Arabi have decided to donate all match proceeds in the 2014-15
season to victims of barbarism on Gaza soil.
This was announced by the club management on Wednesday as hundreds
have perished in missile attacks by the oppressive Israeli regime.
According to a note posted on the club's official website, Chairman
Hitmi bin Ali Khalifa Al Hitmi and the Board of Directors at Al Arabi
Sports Club unanimously decided to forego all match proceeds the club
makes in the new season.
Al Arabi hoped more organizations and clubs would follow suit to help
the affected people on the Gaza strip.
Al Arabi finished in fifth spot in the final QSL points standings last season.
